The cassette player takes two 1.5V LR6 batteries (not supplied), but when I tried with and without a tape, the unit doesn't work, you can hear the motor, but the capstan doesn't rotate to move the tape through the mechanism. I understand this may be caused through a broken belt, but as I don't know, or have the expertise to repair, I am selling as not working and for parts.

The original instruction booklet has some pen writing on the back cover as captured in photograph 10.
