A Hagiyaki mug with a light indigo color that you can enjoy as it ages.

・This Hagiyaki mug is inspired by the terrace of Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo at night and the Meguro River. The glaze expresses light indigo by creating a gradation from blue to purple. It has a rounded shape that allows the aroma of coffee to be felt.

・Hagiyaki is a pottery from Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, which has been nurtured along with more than 400 years of history. Because it is fired slowly at low temperatures, there is little firing, giving it a soft earthen texture, lightweight, and excellent heat retention. Over the years of use, tea stains and other stains soak into the potteries, and they have long been prized by tea masters as “tea accustomed” or “Hagi no shichikake” (seven kinds of stains). Another feature is the “kiritakadai,” which is a cutout in the foot called a takadai.

・The color may differ from that shown in the photo due to differences in clay, glaze, and firing conditions. Please enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with Hagiyaki pottery, which has a variety of colors and a rustic appearance. Light indigo is also available in different colors.
