This O-Pee-Chee hockey card collection contains one complete set (1977-78) and one near set (1978-79). The winning bidder gets both! The full year-by-year breakdown is as follows:

All 396 cards in the 1977-78 O-Pee-Chee hockey set are here including Bobby Orr, Guy Lafleur, Ken Dryden, Bryan Trottier 2nd year and ROOKIE CARDS of Mike Palmateer, Mike Milbury and Paul Holmgren.

CONDITION:
While some of the cards in this set are VG or better, the majority are lower grade with soft corners evident throughout. A portion show creasing which varies in scope. Some are noticeable/heavy including #1 Shutt/Lafleur/Dionne, #227 Barber and #323 Bruins logo and some of the team cards (which are marked on back). Others are minor/moderate in scope such as #211 Palmateer RC.

Typical wax stains affect some including #4, 6, 14, 43, 89, 97, 100 Dryden, 105 Trottier, 111, 120, 122, 131, 146, 154, 246, 250, 259, 264 Bowness RC, 279, 281, 295, 296 325, 349, 351, 352, 354, 368, 379. A small amount have discoloration spots on front including #200 Lafleur and several of the team logos (#329, 331, 337, 339).

#251 Bobby Orr has soft corners (pinch across lower left) but retains a clear image with decent colors and gloss.

394 of the 396 cards in the 1978-79 O-Pee-Chee hockey set are present including Mike Bossy's rookie card (#115) and Bobby Orr's last card (#300).The only cards missing for completion are 2 of the 3 checklists (#24, 297).

CONDITION:
The cards in this near set are a true mix. To elaborate, some are lower grade due to creasing, corner wear or other flaws "including" #1 Bossy RB, #2 Esposito RB, 10 Trottier, #30 Sittler, #67 Bossy/Esposito/Shutt, #90 Lafleur, #115 Bossy RC, #177 Duguay RC, #194 Sabres, #195 Blackhawks, #207 Canucks, #208 Capitals, #210 Robinson (wax stain, some discoloration on front), #300 Orr (heavy crease but card retains VG/EX arguably EX corners), #325 Trottier AS, #326 Lafleur AS, #353 Taylor RC.

Throughout the run, cards like #50 Ken Dryden have corners that are a bit too soft to be called VG "but" retain clear/clean images with decent to nice colors and gloss. 

The balance of this near set (and a decent amount overall), ranges from VG or VG/EX to EX, EX+, EX-MT or EX-MT+.  Notable names that fall into this group include #15 Parent (EX-MT), #20 Vachon (EX+), #60 Cournoyer (EX), #70 Parent/Dryden/Edwards ("factory crease" but card retains VG/EX corners), #75 Mikita (VG/EX), #78 McDonald (EX), #79 Park (EX-MT), #100 P. Esposito (VG/EX), #105 Resch (print lines across upper left otherwise EX+), #120 Dionne (EX-MT+), #121 Beck RC (EX-MT), #130 Perreault (EX-MT to EX-MT+), #143 Bernie Federko RC (top corners show touches but bottom corners are EX/EX+, clean image on front with nice colors/gloss), #168 Doug Wilson RC (EX+), #180 Lemaire (EX+), #190 Savard (EX+), #200 Montreal Canadiens team (EX corners, unmarked back), #215 Clarke (EX+), #240 Salming (EX-MT+), #245 D. Potvin (bit of surface wear at bottom right, EX corners), #250 T. Esposito (top corners are rubbed but bottom corners are VG/EX, image is clear with decent colors/gloss), #280 Boudreau RC (edge wear along top right, bit of a fuzzy cut but card is VG/EX arguably better), #312 Randy Carlyle RC (VG/EX corners, clear image, good colors and gloss), #319 Brian Sutter RC (VG/EX arguably EX with clear image, decent colors/gloss), #330 Dryden AS (border nick but corners are EX with decent colors/gloss).

8 of the 17 team cards present have clean, check-free backs (Flames, Sabres, Kings, #200 Canadiens, Rangers, Penguins, Maple Leafs, Capitals).

Item will be sent hassle free to American addresses via USPS First Class or Priority Mail. If you would like combined shipment, please wait for my invoice before paying. Please note that combined shipping is a courtesy that is available by request if auctions end on the same day, or within 1-2 days of each other.
