Apple iPod Classic 5th Generation (Wolfson DAC) 60 GB + Snugg leather case in red + Apple 30-pin to USB 2 charging cable.

I purchased this iPod (and a second one, afterwards, because I was so impressed by the product) on eBay, from retailer ‘paddystore’. (https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/paddystoreuk).

Paddystore sources and rebuilds iPods then sells them as new items, hence the beautiful condition of this iPod which functions perfectly.

The sound quality is exceptional. I’ve been using this iPod with B&O (Bang & Olufsen) A8 wired earphones and the treble is stunningly transparent. This iPod even sounds great with basic Apple wired earphones.

My music source is my CD collection, which I copy to my Mac Mini computer in AIFF format and I then copy these music files to my iPod (or iPhone). While AIFF files take up a lot of space, the format offers by far the highest quality of the standard audio formats and the fact that this iPod plays AIFF files was a very attractive feature for me when I was shopping around for a high quality portable music player, especially as not all Hi Res players on the market today play AIFF files. The presence of the legendary Wolfson DAC in this music player was also a considerable attraction.

When I purchased this iPod, I was concerned that the storage capacity of 60gb may be insufficient for my needs, but in fact I’ve found it perfectly adequate and while I can’t fit my entire music collection on this one player, 60gb allows you to carry a fairly generous music collection with you.

Unfortunately, in spite of all the benefits of using a music player like this, I’ve found it too easy to sacrifice sound quality to convenience and tend to use my mobile phone for music listening when going for my twice-daily walk. Consequently, this iPod has been used only a handful of times and has mainly sat in a drawer.

This particular iPod model with 60gb storage capacity is becoming difficult to source. Snugg cases for this iPod (which retail at £20) are also becoming scarce.

I will ensure that this iPod is returned factory settings before despatch and my personal music library removed.
