After WW2 Tito held Yugoslavia together under a tight rein until his death in 1980 after which Yugoslavia began to disintegrate resulting in a series of civil & ethnic wars from 1990 to 1999 that forced the United Nations to intervene in an attempt to bring peace & humanitarian relief & aid to refugees in Bosnia.
