Les Belles Heures du Duc de Berry

Publisher: Thames and Hudson undated, but 1959. Bound in cream faux vellum with titles in gilt on the spine and vignette ingilton the top board, presented in a clamshell box with title on the top in gilt. This is a beautiful reproduction of a gorgeously illuminated book of hours from the 15th century. It is in near fine condition, in a similar condition box. there is a presentation bookplate from the publisher on the front endpaper, signed by the managing director of the company, and a loosely included flyer, describing the book. The colours of the illustrations are vibrant, accentuated by gold, which does not show up well in the photos. With an introduction, followed by notes on each of the illustrations. Unpaginated, but complete. 244mm, 9 5/8 inches, tall.
