Beautiful antique quilt in excellent condition especially being that is about 174 years old.
Gorgeous antique fabrics have been used to make this quilt.
Expertly hand quilted at 10 to 11 tiny stitches per inch and made with a thin cotton batting.
There are 49 delectiable mountain blocks that are roughly 10x10 inches squared.
Out of these blocks, 25 of them are in mint condition with no damage of any kind.
The second photo shows the true colors most accurately.
Issues present are:
- 11 of the blocks have only 1 or 2 very tiny tears that cannot be seen unless you look really, really close
- 8 of the blocks have around 4 or 5 small tears that also cannot be seen unless you are looking really close
- 5 of the blocks have a lot of tearing that are somewhat noticeable but again, not unless you are up close
- there are a few small tears in the red border fabric
- a bit of fading in parts of the red border fabric
- there is a slight bit of yellowish age toning in some areas
- there are a couple of light colored age spots on both sides
The binding is completely intact.
This is an incredibly well made, sturdy quilt that should last a long time when properly cared for.
