A more massive platter and a larger, more massive base distinguish the Harman Kardon T40 from the T20.

An optically sensed auto-lift tonearm is incorporated, eliminating the return mechanism entirely and further minimizing unwanted tonearm vibration.

The high-loss (vibration absorbent) platter mat, made of a special high-density rubber, helps prevent vibration from travelling from platter to disc.

A disc stabilizer damps vibration and improves accuracy by reducing record movement.

The phono cables on the T40 are gold-tipped to provide excellent conductivity and low signal loss.
