Beautiful antique quilt in good condition for it's age but with some issues.
Densely and expertly hand quilted at 11 to 13 tiny stitches per inch and made with a thin cotton batting.
There is so much quilting in this one.
There is no loose stitching in any of the appliqued pieces and they are all firmly stitched to the quilt.
Issues present are:
- some fading mostly in the red fabric
- there are some light colored age spots and a bit of toning on both sides
- there are several stitched up repaired areas
- there are several holes that go all the way through
- there is some wear in the red fabric pieces
The binding is just about completely intact with only a few small tears and one small area with missing fabric.
Overall, this quilt still looks very nice as it is but would look really great if the holes were to be repaired.
