From 1912, a great copy of the first edition, Greyhound Fanny, by Martha Morley Stewart. With a two page letter from the author, focusing on her book, and a program from a public appearance by Martha Morley Stewart.  The book is narrated by the Greyhound, Fanny, who says he is descended from the finest English Greyhound stock. He refers to his owner as The Beautiful Lady. A note from the author identifies her as Mrs. Emma Brady. The book appears to want to do for greyhounds what books like Black Beauty did for horses. As published by R.R. Donnelley, Chicago. Sized 8x6 inches, bound in blue cloth, gilt titles, 190 pages, color illustrated. The 1912 letter is to Helen Gould of Tarrytown, New York. Helen Gould was magnate Jay Gould's eldest daughter, and a major philanthropist. In the letter, Stewart asks, "Miss Gould, if you feel the story a worthy one that you will give me an order for perhaps a few to be placed where it may do good. You have so many good works."

Stewart states that all the stories in her book are "true." Great condition. Very unique.
