A STUNNING DOLL WITH BLUE EYES AND RARE BROWN HAIR by Alt, Beck & Gottschalk - circa: mid to late 1800's
I am a UFDC and a NADDA member. This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. This is a 21 inch antique Parian Untinted Bisque doll with a fancy hairdo and a cross necklace. Doll collectors refer to this doll as "The Empress Augusta". (Ref. page 46 in Mary Gorham Krombholz's book - "Identifying German Parian Dolls"). She has a newer body. She has the back portion of her shoulder plate broken off - as shown in a picture; however, it does not effect her wonderful look. The facial painting obviously was done by a master painter. She has blue eyes. And she has the rarer "brown" hair color. And check out the fancy hairdo - just super. Her hands and legs are in excellent condition.
