Violin string fine tuning adjusters

note: these adjuster are placed in situ on the string between the bridge and the tailpiece prior to the string end passing into the tailpiece.

                                                         very small violins such as 1/8 size down to 1/32 will not usually allow for a conventional string adjuster to be fitted due to size restriction within the small tailpiece. These adjusters solve that problem by being placed inline with the string prior to it being secured within the tailpiece. They also have the advantage of being able to be fitted without first removing the existing string. 

                          

whether the existing string has a loop end or ball end is usually dependant upon the tailpiece, though most strings for small violins will have a ball end.

A fine tuning adjuster is essential for the violin ‘E’ string  - and in the case of very small violins - for all the strings as it is almost impossible to tune accurately and easily without it. Many beginners and early students are helped by having a fine adjuster for all 4 strings.

fitting advice

Adjusters are very easy to fit, but as with all matters pertaining to the violin care is needed. Do be careful when locating the adjuster not to scratch the violin table varnish under the tailpiece. (a cloth placed under the tailpiece is recommended).

However, though most items weigh little, nevertheless because of thickness, they must be sent as a package and therefore incur a postage charge within Europe of £3.15 in the case of small items and £3.55 for rest of world.
