This coin is in great condition given its age and history. The pictures show only minor marking with a good clean solid rim and sharp details.
Prior to German unification the Vereinsthaler or union thaler was a standard silver coin throughout most of the German States as well as Austria.
The previous Thaler was based on the Prussian version which did contain more silver. This particular coin here however contained 16 and two thirds grams of silver. A German Pfund was the equivalent of 500 grams and this coin has one thirtieth of a metric pound. This is shown on the coin.
On the Obverse we have the Laureate bust facing right and the legend with the words FREIE STADT FRANKFURT (Free City Frankfurt).
On the Reverse we have the crowned eagle with wings opened wide and the legend ZWEI VEREINSTHALER. XV EIN PFUND FEIN (Two Union Thaler 30 One Pound Fine)
Around the edge of the coin we see the words STARK IM RECHT (Strong in law).

The Vereinsthaler was used as the base for several different currencies. In Prussia and several other northern German states, the Vereinsthaler was the standard unit of account, divided into 30 Silbergroschen, each of 12 Pfennig. In Saxony, the Neugroschen was equal to the Prussian Silbergroschen but was divided into 10 Pfennig. Other states like Hanover, used the name Groschen rather than Silbergroschen for a coin of 12 Pfennig and the Mecklenburg states and Hesse-Kassel districts used entirely distinct subdivisions. In southern Germany, states including Bavaria used the Gulden as the standard unit of account, with 1.75 Gulden equal to 1 Vereinsthaler. The Gulden was divided into 60 Kreuzer. Each Kreuzer was worth 4 Pfennig or 8 Heller. Something akin to pennies and half pennies. Within the Austrian Empire and then later in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a different Gulden was produced which was locally known as the Florin or, in Hungarian, Forint was the unit of account, with 1.5 Gulden equal to 1 Vereinsthaler. This Gulden was divided into 100 Kreuzer.

1. LEGAL APPLICABILITY

This GTC, as well as any other privity of contract with James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles, is to be governed by and construed in accordance with German law under exclusion of the regulations arising out of the Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
2. OFFER AND ACCEPTANCE
2.1
Our offers are always subject to confirmation, deliveries only while stocks last. Errors and omissions are excepted. The buyer's order constitutes a legally binding offer to conclude a sales contract, which James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles accepts latest by sending the invoice and delivering the ordered goods. All sales and deliveries to be carried out only on the basis of these GTC. 3. DELIVERY TERMS & COSTS
3.1
All prices are retail prices including the statutory rate of value added tax (sales tax) valid at the time of billing. Changes for a significant pricing factor until the delivering date especially the precious metal costs or exchange rates prompt James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles to enter into negotiations with the customer with the objective of revising the price and billing again at the daily price. Should James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles not adjust a revisioned price in common with the customer both sides have the right to withdraw from the contract. For any additional claims for compensation James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles shall not assume liability.
3.2
The minimum order is the item price as listed in Ebay

Noteworthy Collectibles includes postage and handling to all destinations on all listings by airmail registered post via DHL. Any request for additional services such as courier will be charged additionally.
Deliveries to countries outside the European Union can in certain cases incur other costs, which have to be paid by the buyer. These include for example costs of money transfer by payment service providers or import charges (taxes, duties etc.). The customer has different payment options at their disposal that can be viewed online.
4. FURTHER DELIVERY CONDITIONS
4.1
If the customer is an individual customer, the risk of accidental loss of, or damage to, the purchased goods is transferred to the purchaser only when the goods are handed over to the customer or to a person legally authorized to receive.
4.2
Agreements on binding delivery deadlines and any other collateral agreements must be in writing.
4.3
James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles reserves title to the delivered items until all payments from the business relationship (and redemption of all of the existing receivables) with the order party are available at its disposal. This reservation of title shall apply to the accepted outstanding balance.The buyer agrees to not to dispose of the delivery subject matters. The retention of title can only be revoked by James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles. The exercising of reservation of title and attachment of the delivery items by James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles does not constitute rescission of contract insofar as the terms of the German Consumer Credit Act (Verbraucherkreditgesetz) do not apply or James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles has expressly declared this in writing.
4.4
With the appearance of the latest available sale list all previous storage and sales lists are invalid.
4.5
From an order value of AUD$1500.00 (or higher) we coordinate in each case the delivery of the good(s) in consultation with the customer.
5. TERMS OF PAYMENT
5.1
Payments to James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles must be made stating the customer and invoice number (otherwise we cannot allocate the receipt of payment promptly and the delivery will be delayed).
5.2
Shipments to customers unknown to us only against advance payment. If prepayment is agreed, the pay-off is immediately due upon signing the contract.
5.3
To customers known to us we deliver on account. The invoice amount is payable immediately upon the receipt of goods, strictly net and without deductions, to one of the bank accounts named on the customer´s bill. In cases of delayed payments costs from the second reminder and the collection costs are to be reimbursed. In default of payment we charge 5% above the base rate as default damage, unless the buyer can prove that we actually had a lower damage. The order party may only offset if its counterclaims have been legally recognized, are indisputable or have been confirmed by James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles. The order party is also entitled to exercise a right of lien only to the extent that its counterclaim is based on the same contractual relationship.
5.4
In default of payment James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles is entitled to suspend all services until payment of the outstanding amount. Any further payment obligation of the purchaser for the period of non-delivery is not affected . Furthermore, James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles is entitled to grant threatening to terminate an extension of 14 more days to offset the overdue amounts and, after fruitless expiry of the grace period, James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles is allowed to cancel the contract immediately. This shall not affect James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles right of recovery of arrears and damages remains.
6. ACCESS PROTECTION AND AVAILABILITY
6.1
The customer is obliged to provide access protection against unauthorized use of its online account with James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles and to exclude any attention and utilization of third parties.
6.2
The customer is liable to James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles for any damage, which incurred James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles through the unauthorized use of access protection, unless these damages are based on neglect of duty of care that legally represent sole responsibility by James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles.
6.3
The user of the online systems of James Rotheram trading as Noteworthy Collectibles agrees to take quiet on the entrusted prices and informations, even though a valid sales contract is or will not be concluded.
6.4

7. INFORMATION OF CANCELLATION

7.2
Consequences of Revocation. If you declare the revocation of this contract, all received payments, including delivery costs, need to be paid back by us without any delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on we received the information. For this reimbursement, we will use the initial method of payment of your transaction, unless something different is specifically agreed between you and us. In no case, fees will be charged to you for this reimbursement. We may withhold the reimbursement until we received or collected the goods back, or we received evidence by your side that you sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.You have to return the goods immediately, latest within fourteen days after sending us the notification. Verändert sich bis zum Liefertag ein für die Preisbildung maßgeblicher Faktor, insbesondere die Edelmetallkosten oder die Devisenkurse, so werden wir mit Ihnen in Verhandlungen mit dem Ziel einer Neufestsetzung des Preises und der Abrechnung zum Tagespreis treten. Sollte die nachträglich erforderlich gewordene Preisanpassung nicht gemeinsam herzustellen sein, so haben beide Parteien das Recht, vom Vertrag zurückzutreten. Weiter gehende Ansprüche sind ausgeschlossen.
3. Bei Zahlungsverzug sind die Kosten ab der zweiten Mahnung sowie die Inkassokosten zu erstatten. Ab Verzugseintritt berechnen wir pauschal 5% über dem jeweiligen Bundesbankdiskontsatz als Verzugsschaden, es sei denn, der Käufer weist uns nach, dass wir tatsächlich einen geringeren Schaden hatten. Die Aufrechnung mit Forderungen,die wir nicht anerkannt haben, ist ausgeschlossen. Bei Lieferungen ins Ausland, abhängig vom Bestellwert, zzgl. 10,- bis 17,- Euro Versandkostenanteil je Lieferung für Porto, Verpackung & Versicherung.
4 Widerrufsbelehrung
4.1 Widerrufsrecht
Sie haben das Recht, binnen vierzehn Tagen ohne Angabe von Gründen diesen Vertrag zu widerrufen. Die Widerrufsfrist beträgt vierzehn Tage ab dem Tag, an dem Sie oder ein von Ihnen benannter Dritter, der nicht der Beförderer ist, die Waren in Besitz genommen haben bzw. hat.

Zur Wahrung der Widerrufsfrist reicht es aus, dass Sie die Mitteilung über die Ausübung des Widerrufsrechts vor Ablauf der Widerrufsfrist absenden.
4.2 Folgen des Widerrufs
Wenn Sie diesen Vertrag widerrufen, haben wir Ihnen alle Zahlungen, die wir von Ihnen erhalten haben, einschließlich der Lieferkosten, unverzüglich und spätestens binnen vierzehn Tagen ab dem Tag zurückzuzahlen, an dem die Mitteilung über Ihren Widerruf dieses Vertrags bei uns eingegangen ist. Für diese Rückzahlung verwenden wir dasselbe Zahlungsmittel, das Sie bei der ursprünglichen Transaktion eingesetzt haben, es sei denn, mit Ihnen wurde ausdrücklich etwas anderes vereinbart; in keinem Fall werden Ihnen wegen dieser Rückzahlung Entgelte berechnet. Wir können die Rückzahlung verweigern, bis wir die Waren wieder zurückerhalten haben oder bis Sie den Nachweis erbracht haben, dass Sie die Waren zurückgesandt haben, je nachdem, welches der frühere Zeitpunkt ist. Sie haben die Waren unverzüglich und in jedem Fall spätestens binnen vierzehn Tagen ab dem Tag, an dem Sie uns über den Widerruf dieses Vertrags unterrichten, an uns zurückzusenden oder zu übergeben. Die Frist ist gewahrt, wenn Sie die Waren vor Ablauf der Frist von vierzehn Tagen absenden. Sie tragen die unmittelbaren Kosten der Rücksendung der Waren. Sie müssen für einen etwaigen Wertverlust der Waren nur aufkommen, wenn dieser Wertverlust auf einen zur Prüfung der Beschaffenheit, Eigenschaften und Funktionsweise der Waren nicht notwendigen Umgang mit Ihnen zurückzuführen ist.
4.3 Das Widerrufsrecht besteht nicht bei den folgenden Verträgen:

5. Bitte vermeiden Sie Beschädigungen und Verunreinigungen der Ware. Senden Sie die Ware möglichst in der Originalverpackung an uns zurück. Verwenden Sie ggf. eine Umverpackung. Wenn Sie die Originalverpackung nicht mehr besitzen, sorgen Sie mit einer geeigneten Verpackung für einen ausreichenden Schutz der Ware.
6. Wird uns die Lieferung aus von uns zu vertretenden Gründen ganz oder teilweise unmöglich, so ist der Käufer ganz oder teilweise zum Rücktritt vom Kaufvertrag berechtigt. Eventuelle Schadensersatzansprüche beschränken sich auf grob fahrlässiges oder vorsätzliches Herbeiführen der Unmöglichkeit durch unsere gesetzlichen Vertreter oder Erfüllungsgehilfen. Bei Eintritt unvorhersehbarer Hindernisse, wie Streik, Aussperrung, Betriebsstörungen, Verzögerungen in der Anlieferung verlängern sich etwaige Lieferfristen um einen angemessenen Zeitraum, gleichviel, ob diese Hindernisse bei uns oder bei unseren Vorlieferanten eintreten. Der Käufer ist bis zur Erklärung darüber berechtigt, zu welchem Zeitpunkt wir voraussichtlich liefern werden. Ist eine Lieferung binnen angemessener Frist nicht möglich, hat der Käufer das Recht, vom Vertrag zurückzutreten.
7. Wir garantieren für die Echtheit aller von uns gelieferten Münzen. Wir versenden, soweit möglich alle Münzen in der Originalverpackung des Ausgabelandes.
8. Die von uns gelieferte Ware bleibt bis zur vollständigen Bezahlung des Kaufpreises und Tilgung aller aus der Geschäftsverbindung bestehenden Forderungen unser Eigentum. Dies gilt auch dann, wenn Zahlungen auf besonders bezeichnete Forderungen geleistet werden. Die Einstellung einzelner Forderungen in eine laufende Rechnung oder Saldierung oder deren Anerkennung heben den Eigentumsvorbehalt nicht auf. Der Käufer ist verpflichtet, über die Ware bis zu deren vollständigen Bezahlung keine Verfügungen zu treffen.
9 Datenschutz, Sicherheit
9.1 Gemäß § 46 Abs. 1 BDSG weisen wir darauf hin, dass im Rahmen des Vertragsverhältnisses entstehende personenbezogene Daten gespeichert werden.
9.2 Der Verkäufer behandelt die ihm zur Verfügung gestellten personenbezogenen Daten absolut vertraulich und entsprechend der im BDSG, TMG sowie TKG definierten und für den Geschäftsvorgang relevanten Datenschutzvorschriften. Eine Weitergabe, Veräußerung oder sonstige Übermittlung Ihrer personenbezogenen Daten an Dritte erfolgt nicht, außer zum Zweck der Abwicklung des Vertrages (bspw. an die mit der Auslieferung der Ware betrauten Unternehmen oder an etwaige Abrechnungsdienstleister).
9.3 Die Sicherheit Ihrer uns übermittelten personenbezogenen Daten haben für uns höchste Priorität! Sollten Sie jedoch per E-Mail mit uns in Kontakt treten, weisen wir Sie ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass auf diesem Weg der Übertragung Vertraulichkeit nicht vollständig gewährleistet werden kann! Daher empfehlen wir Ihnen, uns vertrauliche Informationen ausschließlich postalisch zu übermitteln.
10 Schlussbestimmungen
10.1 Erfüllungsort für alle aus einer Bestellung herrührenden Leistungen ist der Sitz unseres Unternehmens. Sollten einzelne Bestimmungen dieser Allg. Geschäftsbedingungen der Rechtswirksamkeit entbehren, so ist die Rechtsbeständigkeit der übrigen Bestimmungen dadurch nicht berührt. In einem solchen Fall soll die ungültige Klausel durch eine solche ersetzt werden, die dem Sinn und Zweck der ungültigen Klausel in zulässiger Form am nächsten kommt. Gerichtsstand ist Brühl.
